Abstract

Throughout history, singing has had a fundamental place in musical practice, which is why it became a skill to be developed in the professional musician’s training spaces. The paths to achieve this have been very diverse. However, an academic vocal production mode, based on lyrical/choral style and aesthetics, appears repeatedly to consolidate itself as a prototype in the approach to different forms of singing, without taking into account the context, heterogeneity and identity of each style. This article tries to reflect on the future of song teaching and, in particular, its relationship with the approach of popular music.

    Bachelor of Music with orientation in Musical Education from the Faculty of Fine Arts (UNLP). Teacher assigned to the Audioperceptive Chair I and II of the Faculty of Fine Arts. Postgraduate thesis student of the Specialization in Artistic Languages ​​and PhD in Arts of the FBA-UNLP and research fellow from the UNLP. From 2015 to 2017, he participated as an assistant in the Vocal Education chair led by Prof. María Verónica Benassi. Performs research tasks on voice in the Laboratory for the study of musical experience and integrates the PPID / B010 project - "Improvisation and orality in popular music. Towards a definition of the embodied, phenomenological and grammatical aspects of performance as ontology Of action." directed by Dr. Joaquín Blas Pérez. He has devoted himself to self-taught study of the singing voice and the modes of vocal production in the different styles of popular music. Since 2016 he develops the independent project "Vocal Development Space for Canere Singing" in which he participates as a teacher.

    Professor of Musical Initiation and University Professor of Musical Education, graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts - UNLP. Category III Researcher of the SPU Incentive Program - National Ministry of Education. Adjunct Professor of the Audioperceptive Chairs 1 and 2 of the Faculty of Fine Arts - UNLP. Co-director of the Accredited Project 11B / 298 “The embodiment of the musical mind. Towards a definition of his stature in the study of ontogenesis, perception and performance of music ”. Member of the project: "Communicative Musicality in the Temporary Arts and Early Childhood". PICT 2013-0368 (National Agency for the Promotion of Science and Technology). Member of the Advisory Council of the Laboratory for the Study of Musical Experience (LEEM) of the Faculty of Fine Arts - UNLP. Member of the Inspection Body of the Argentine Society for Cognitive Sciences of Music. Member of the Latin American music duo Peña-Valles (piano, voice and arrangements).
