Abstract

This article analyses how political theatre makes use of the historical tensions to create their theatrical discourse. It is focused in two plays and their theatrical staging: Discurso sobre la servidumbre voluntaria, by Andrés Recio, produced by Unidad de Producción Alcores, and Nuestra América, written and produced by the chilean group Teatro Público. They both allow to explore and delv into the different historical processes resulting from the class struggle within two opposite scenarios: Occidental History in Discurso sobre la servidumbre voluntaria and Latin American in Nuestra América.
