Abstract

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo discutir las construcciones concesivas introducidas por a pesar de (que) en el español hablado a la luz de la teoría de la Gramática Discursivo-Funcional (Hengeveld y Mackenzie, 2008). El objetivo de este estudio es verificar en qué Nivel y camada de esta teoría las cláusulas concesivas introducidas por ese nexo actúan. Según Bosque y Demonte (2000), a pesar de puede ser utilizada como locución prepositiva e introducir tanto sintagmas nominales como oraciones de infinitivo; a pesar de que, sin embargo, muestra un comportamiento similar a la conjunción aunque en cuanto al uso del tiempo y de los modos verbales. Tenemos la intención de investigar de qué manera se distinguen a pesar de y a pesar de que bajo la hipótesis de que hay diferencias semántico-pragmáticas entre esas dos conjunciones para marcar la relación concesiva y que esta diferencia se relaciona con los Niveles y camadas propuestos por la Gramática Discursivo-Funcional.
