This work is part of an investigation which focuses on the relationship betweenschools and families. In this paper, we analyze a specific educational policy, the
Integral Program for Educational Equality, created by the Ministry of Education
(Argentina), aimed at urban schools that attend children in situation of “social
vulnerability”.
The analysis is developed in two levels: on the one hand, considering the
documents produced by the Ministry about this Program. On the other hand, in
view of local practices registered through ethnographic work in a school placed in
the City of Buenos Aires, which is included in the Program.
The articulation of both levels enlightens the knowledge about contemporary
socio-educational issues, the governmental attempts to work them out and the
practices and resignifications built in schools everyday life.
