Abstract

This article analyzes a particular type of mobility caused by the displacement of population as a result of peasant expulsion processes, on one hand, towards reduced plots through a relocation of rural families and, on the other, towards the town of Los Juríes, in the department of General Taboada (Santiago del Estero). That takes place in a territory that has undergone different transformations as a result of the advance of the agricultural frontier, especially since the emergence of soybean production, land dispossession and the cotton production crisis, causing both population movements and productive, economic and social changes. The objective is to analyze the main changes that affect population involved in rural-rural and rural-urban displacements, identifying their new living spaces and families dynamics and their daily living relations.
