Manguebeat, samba and experiência musical brasileira

Abstract

This paper aims to establish parameters of the Manguebeat’s interpretation according to the experiência musical brasileira. The intention is to seek keys on the brazilian sonorities history to a critical approach for the production of Chico Science & Nação Zumbi and Mundo Livre S/A. The partial finding of this reflection suggests the relevance of an expanded notion of samba in the two bands’ work.
