Abstract

This paper presents a state of the art of research on the teaching of Language and Literature —a secondary–school subject— developed by Argentine universities. For this study one hundred fifty papers published between 2003 and 2017 were collected. After describing the methodology chosen for the selection of texts, results are presented organized following the central themes of the curriculum design. The review of research articles, chapters and papers shows that studies usually do not focus on teaching practices, learning processes or classroom interactions. Instead, they are about the evolution of the Language and Literature curriculum from a historicist approach or propose a theoretical framework for teaching a specific content.
