Kids belong to everyone. Children, care and education in the community centers of the Red Andando

Abstract

The ways in which childhood is conceived largely guide the work of the environments intended for their care, forge relationships and enable certain experiences for girls and boys. Making these representations visible and thinking critically about them then constitutes a relevant exercise in the work with children. From this perspective, the article investigates the experience developed in the community centers of the Red Andando, to analyze the practices and senses about childhood and care, as well as the formative processes that, not without tensions and difficulties, its members build.

The qualitative study of a set of documentary materials (written texts, graphic and audiovisual material) produced by the members of the Red Andando, as well as the participation of one of the authors in spaces of exchange between and with its members, has allowed to evidence the dynamic place of childhood in the network of care and educational practices, as well as the complexity of the training work that supports the proposal, while highlighting a set of emerging challenges.
