This article deals with the debate on the division of powers that took place in the State of Buenos Aires between 1821 and 1825. The alternatives that arose around the construction of the executive and legislative powers respectively during this period enable the analysis of how the balances of power were planned and the role the new political mechanisms played in them. This study is based on the interrelation of political languages, institutional norms and human actions.
