This essay reviews and analyzes the structure and main contributions of Darío Barriera's book Historia y Justicia. Cultura, política y sociedad en el Río de la Plata (siglos XVI-XIX). In it, we highlight the contributions that the author made in the reconstruction of the disciplinary field of the History of Justice, we highlight his successes and we problematize certain sections. The work that we had the pleasure of reviewing is one of the most significant contributions that has been written so far within its discipline.
