This work analyzes the region of Los Llanos in colonial La Rioja from a demographic and socio-economic point of view. In the article the space and mercantile connections of the region are studied, as well as the complex social and demographic processes of their inhabitants, in relation to their strategies of resources and family reproduction during the XVIII century. Also, there are some spots on the remains of these strategies through present times.
