Ethnogeneses, Origo gentis, ethnicity and ethnic identity: About the concepts and its definitions

Abstract

Along my studies about ethnogeneses I have see the ambiguity of its lexicon. Through this work I shall try to review these concepts, in the context of the studies of several scholars, who have written about this subject. Then concepts as gens/ethnos, tribe, Sippe, ethnicity and ethnical identity, will be under review. As A. Becker claims, these words, specially “ethnicity” has been widely used but no always clearly defined. So I shall consider, humbly, doing this for clarify and made an approach to define these concepts. Besides, I shall try to describe the interaction between the processes these word name or the elements that integrate them.
