Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the presence of the Churumatas in the region of the eastern Inca border, limited to the mesothermal valleys through the Tomina-Chuquisaca-Tarija axis during the 16th and early 17th centuries, providing information, based on archival sources, relative to their socio-economic organization - although it does not yet allow us to draw conclusions about the nuclear territory or ethnic belonging of the aforementioned group.
