Presentación: Los exilios políticos del Cono Sur de América Latina: temas, enfoques y perspectivas

Abstract

This study is an introductory text to the thematic dossier “Political exiles of the Southern Cone of Latin America: issues, approaches and perspectives”. The first part aims at a reconstruction of the historical background of the latest wave of political exiles of the Southern Cone, raising our outlook study and conducting a general review of the historiography of the subject. In the second part, a brief overview on the contribution of oral history methodology to the field of study of Latin American exiles develops. Finally we present a brief overview of the items included in the dossier.
