Abstract

Women’s social movements and the LGBTIQ+ debate raise questions about forms of organization and day-to-day management. This article, through a socio-anthropological approach –which reveals the (trans)feminist and intersectional perspective- analytically observes a “bloco” of drums in a “villa” (slum) located in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires during 2021 and 2022. An ethnographic approach enabled us to understand the difficulties involved (in terms of resources, spaces and priorities within each territory); the challenges of self-managing and feminist organization (in relation to time, care, pleasure, recreation, hierarchy of artistic practice); and to explain how participants conceive the “bloco” as a tool for improving their living conditions. Finally, the article contributes to understand how these women negotiate, resist and insist on agenda items that present other forms of collective organization.
