Abstract

Between the 1940’s and 1970’s, the most important theoretical perspectives in sociology and social anthropology gave huge importance to social relationships, however from the mid-1970’s onward, and particularly since 1980, a whole series of trends focused on the subject and social actor, questioning previous perspectives and formulating non-relational methodological approaches. This polarization has been negative; thus, it is necessary to promote a joint analysis combining the relational focus and one based on the actor’s point of view.
