The article explores the scope of the notion of “emancipated spectator” starting from the assumption that his emancipation is constituted in its relation with the scene from the putting into play of perceptive abilities and processes that reconfigure the sensitive experience. To that end, it articulates various theoretical perspectives that put into tension the logic from which theater reception is usually thought and that allow us to think about the place occupied by the viewer’s experience in front of the stage but also the ways in which the scene -particularly the current Argentine scene- conceives the experience of the spectator and his emancipatory powers.
